Tinġo's alignments
Origin of Tinġo
In the heart of Veracruz, Mexico, my grandmother marked my childhood. She practiced sustainability in her small grocery store long before it became a global trend. She sold locally grown food and used reusable bags, making her a true visionary in resource management. This ethos of mindful living reminds me of the word “Tingo,” from the Pascuense language of Easter Island, "to borrow things from a friend’s house, one by one until there’s nothing left."
Tinġo encapsulates an understanding of our limited natural resources and our responsibility to preserve them for future generations. Responsible take—leave something behind for others.
A Passion for Sustainability
Growing up surrounded by this philosophy instilled in me a deep respect for our finite resources and an unwavering love for nature and community. Enjoying good food has always been one of my greatest joys, but understanding that the global food system is responsible for about one-third of greenhouse gas emissions drove me to seek meaningful change.
Tinġo's Vision
I introduce Tinġo as a tribute to those intimate, friendly gatherings at the dinner table, where the best conversations happen, and lasting memories are created. I am inspired by my grandmother's legacy and her dedication to sustainability. I strive to make choices that benefit our children and future generations, just as she did in her little corner of the world.
Join Tinġo
I invite you to join Tinġo, not just as a consumer but as part of a community that believes in a more sustainable future. Together, we can make a meaningful difference, one plate at a time.
